1. What materials are used in twelvesomething products?

twelvesomething products are crafted from premium materials chosen for durability, tactility, and everyday use. Each piece begins as a solid block of T6061 aerospace-grade aluminum, precision-machined for strength and longevity. Wood covers are made from hand-selected walnut, CNC-machined to preserve the natural character of the material. We use high-strength neodymium rare-earth magnets with a black epoxy coating for a secure, refined closure. Select products also feature custom silicone feet to provide stability and prevent slipping on everyday surfaces. Finishing is handled with care to protect the materials while allowing them to age naturally over time.

2. Where are your products made?

Our products are built locally, close to home in the Los Angeles area. Raw materials are carefully sourced nearby, then precision-machined by trusted local craftsmen and finished by specialized vendors known for their attention to detail. Each piece is then assembled in-house. This close-to-home approach allows us to stay hands-on at every step—ensuring quality, intention, and consistency in every product we release. It’s a slower, more intentional way of building, but one that keeps the craft honest and the vision intact.

3. Are the wood covers all the same?

Yes and no. All twelvesomething wood covers are made from walnut, but no two pieces will ever look exactly the same. Each walnut block is individually selected, cut down to the shape and size needed, and then CNC-machined. Because wood is a natural material, variations in grain, tone, and pattern are inherent to the process. These differences are part of what makes each piece unique.

4. Are magnets safe to use?

Yes. twelvesomething products use high-strength neodymium rare-earth magnets that are carefully integrated into the design for secure, everyday use. The magnets are enclosed within the product and intended to provide a reliable closure without interfering with normal handling. As with any magnetic object, we recommend keeping the product away from sensitive electronics, magnetic cards, and medical devices such as pacemakers.

5. Will the finish change over time?

Under normal everyday use, the aluminum body and anodized finish are designed to remain durable and consistent over time. As with any natural material, the walnut wood cover may gradually develop subtle changes in tone and character. Exposure to light, temperature, and humidity can influence how the wood ages, especially in environments such as bathrooms or areas with frequent moisture. These changes are a natural part of the material and reflect the way each piece is used and lived with.

All twelvesomething products are designed in-house. Each design begins internally, with careful attention to concept, proportions, materials, and functionality before moving into local production and finishing.

ORDER AND SHIPPING

1. Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States. All orders are carefully packed and shipped via USPS from the Los Angeles area. As twelvesomething continues to grow, we plan to expand shipping options thoughtfully while maintaining the same level of care in how each order is handled.

2. How long does shipping take?

Orders are typically shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Once shipped, delivery generally takes 3–5 business days within the United States, depending on location. Orders traveling from the West Coast to the East Coast may take slightly longer. While shipping timelines can vary, we take care to prepare and send each order promptly before it leaves our studio.

3. Do you offer expedited shipping?

At this time, we do not offer expedited shipping. Each order is packed and prepared with care, and we currently focus on shipping via USPS Priority Mail to ensure a reliable balance of speed and handling. As twelvesomething evolves, we may introduce additional shipping options thoughtfully.

4. Will I receive tracking information?

Yes. Once your order ships, tracking information is automatically provided via email. You can also log into your account to view the status of your shipment and track its progress once it has left our studio.

5. What happens if my package is lost or delayed?

Once an order has been shipped, delivery timelines are handled by the carrier. While delays can occasionally occur, we’re always happy to help you track down your package and provide any available updates. If a shipment is confirmed lost in transit, please reach out to us and we’ll work with you to review the situation and determine the next steps.

RETURNS AND WARRANTY

1. What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for items that are unused and in their original condition. Because twelvesomething products are made in small batches, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Once a return is received and inspected, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment. Used items and products returned outside the return window are not eligible for return.

2. Can I return a used item?

No. Returned items must be unused and in their original condition. Due to the small-batch nature of our products, we’re unable to accept returns on items that show signs of use.

3. How do I start a return?

To start a return, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. Once we confirm that your item is eligible, we’ll provide return instructions. Returned items are inspected upon arrival, and approved returns will be refunded to the original form of payment.

4. What happens if my item arrives damaged?

If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of the item and packaging. We’ll review the issue and work with you to determine the best next steps.

5. Do you offer exchanges?

We do not currently offer exchanges. Due to the small-batch nature of our products, we’re unable to accommodate exchange requests. We recommend returning the original item in accordance with our return policy and placing a new order.

6. Do your products come with a warranty?

Yes. twelvesomething products are covered by a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing defects, starting from the date of delivery. This warranty covers issues related to craftsmanship or materials under normal use. It does not cover normal wear, natural material variation, or damage resulting from misuse, accidents, or exposure beyond everyday conditions. Warranty claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

7. What is not covered under the warranty?

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, natural material variation, or changes in appearance over time. It also does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, drops, improper care, excessive moisture exposure, or unauthorized modifications. Because each piece is crafted from natural and premium materials, variations in wood grain, tone, and finish are considered part of the design and not defects.

8. How do I submit a warranty claim?

To submit a warranty claim, please contact us with your order information and a brief description of the issue. Photos may be requested to help us better understand the concern. Each claim is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and if a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we’ll determine the appropriate next steps.

twelvesomething products are designed for everyday use. To maintain the finish and materials, we recommend handling with care, keeping the product dry when possible, and wiping with a soft, dry cloth as needed. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

2. Can the product get wet?

While occasional contact with moisture won’t immediately damage the product, prolonged exposure to water or humidity is not recommended. The aluminum body is durable, but the natural wood cover may be affected by frequent moisture over time. For best results, avoid leaving the product in wet or humid environments.
